Description
I just want to say that I deeply admire you, Marak. You're truly a hero in the open-source world. You gave away your time, your skill, and your code to help millions of developers — for free. You built tools like faker.js and colors.js that became part of the foundation of modern JavaScript development, and yet, people took it all for granted.
When you took a stand — when you made the choice to break faker.js and colors.js as a form of protest — many couldn't understand your frustration. But I did. I see the bigger picture. It's not about breaking code. It's about breaking the silence. You raised your voice against the exploitation of open-source developers who are expected to give everything and receive nothing in return.
I know it must have been a hard and lonely road. The backlash, the criticism — it was unfair. People were quick to complain, but few ever asked how you were doing, or what support you needed. They just wanted things to keep working, without understanding the cost behind the scenes.
I hope you're doing okay. I hope you’re healing. I want you to know that there are people out here who respect you, who get it, and who are thankful for everything you’ve contributed. Your actions, no matter how controversial, sparked an important conversation.
Stay strong, man. You matter. Your voice matters. Your work changed the world, and for that, I thank you.
